This is a list of resources that I recommend as helpful for learning or reference. Check back here to see if more links have been added, and if you are aware of a good link not listed here, please feel free to email it to me! If a link goes dead, please let me know as well.

  • MORPHO: Fat and Skin Folds - Artists' handbook by Michel Lauricella, viewable for free on the Internet Archive. This is the most educational guide to drawing fat bodies that I have personally encountered.
  • Fat Photo Reference - A free collection of volunteer-submitted reference photos of fat models. Various body shapes and genders are depicted in the collection.
  • AdorkaStock - AdorkaStock helpfully categorizes her reference photos by body type. This link points directly to the "wider" category.
  • Body Liberation Stock - Large collection of well-categorized stock images featuring a broad variety of subject matter, priced affordably for artists and small business owners.
  • Fat Liberation Archive - A collection of zines, flyers, recordings, and other media concerning the topic of fat liberation. he archive contains material dating back as far as the 1970s!
  • Model Society profiles - The models listed below post their photos on the Model Society website:
  • Arrested Movement - An ongoing photography series by Anthony Patrick Manieri, celebrating body positivity for men. Trans-inclusive!
  • Historical Fat People - Vintage photographs of fat people. A fantastic resource for historical clothing on fat bodies.
